The Queensland University of Technology is offering equity scholarships for domestic or international students in Australia. These scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate research at the Queensland University of Technology.

Applicants for admission into QUT courses are considered against the minimum entry requirements for individual courses on the basis of academic merit, English language proficiency and for some courses, additional requirements may apply. To assess their English language proficiency, the university accepts results from the following tests: IELTS (Academic); TOEFL iBT (Internet-based); Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic); Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE); Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE).

  • Course Level: The scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate, postgraduate research level at Queensland University of Technology in Australia.
  • Study Subject: Scholarships are provided in the field of Business; Creative Industries; Education; Health; Law and Science and Engineering.
  • Scholarship Award: Applicants can only receive one of the monetary awards (scholarships and bursaries). If you’re eligible for more than one, you’ll receive the one with the highest value. If you’re eligible for a computer, you may receive that as well as a scholarship or bursary.

    Semester 1

    Domestic students can receive:
    • an Equity Scholarship of $7,500 per year for up to four years (there are limited scholarships available at this value)
    • an Equity Scholarship of $5,000 for one year (there are limited scholarships available at this value)
    • an Equity Scholarship of $3,500 for one year
    • an Equity Bursary of $1,500 for one year
    • an Equity computer (with the capacity to access internet and a USB drive). You can only receive an Equity computer every second year (e.g., if you received one in 2018, you can’t receive one in 2019).
    International students can receive:
    • an Equity Bursary of up to $1,500 for one year
    • an Equity computer (with the capacity to access internet and a USB drive). You can only receive an Equity computer every second year (e.g., if you received one in 2018, you can’t receive one in 2019).

    Semester 2

    If you received a scholarship or bursary in Semester 1, you can’t apply for another scholarship in Semester 2.
    Domestic students can receive:
    • an Equity Scholarship of $1,750 for one semester
    • an Equity Bursary of $1,500 for one semester
    • a Faculty Equity Bursary of $1,500 for one semester.
    International students can receive:
    • an Equity Bursary of up to $1,500 for one semester
    • a Faculty Equity Bursary of $1,500 for one semester.

Eligibility for the Scholarship:


  • Eligible Countries: Domestic or International students can apply for the scholarships.
  • Entrance Requirements: Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible to apply for this scholarship:-
    • From a low-income background
    • Experiencing financial hardship.
    University also takes personal hardship into consideration when assessing applications. This includes:
    • Personal medical conditions
    • Disabilities
    • Dependents with special needs.
    There are some guarantees with our Equity scholarship:
    • If you’re a commencing Smith Family Learning for Life student, you’re guaranteed an Equity Scholarship of $1,750 if you start in Semester 2, or $3,500 if you start in Semester 1. If you start in Semester 1, you’re also guaranteed an Equity computer (a reconditioned desktop computer with the capacity to access the internet and a USB drive) if you need one.
    • If you’re a commencing Q-Step Scheme student, you’re guaranteed an Equity Scholarship of $1,750 if you start in Semester 2, or $3,500 if you start in Semester 1.
    • If you’re a commencing Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student, you’re guaranteed the Equity bursary of $1,500. You won’t receive this bursary if you successfully apply for one or more Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships.
  • English Language Requirements: Applicants for admission into QUT courses are considered against the minimum entry requirements for individual courses on the basis of academic merit, English language proficiency, and for some courses, additional requirements may apply.
