           The 50th year of discovery of the Lassa fever virus provides an opportunity for the scientific community to reflect on what is known, describe gaps that exist and prioritize the research and response agenda for the future.

        We are excited and look forward to hosting current and future health professionals who are willing and ready to rise to the challenge of Lassa fever. This conference offers a unique opportunity for health professionals from across the world to develop professionally, network extensively, and build lasting positive relationships with colleagues at NCDC and other partner agencies.



Conference Travel Scholarship
The NCDC is offering travel scholarships to eligible individuals that are interested in participating in this conference. This scholarship ensures that there is broader and wider participation from professionals working in the Viral Haemorrhagic Fever (VHF) prevention, detection and response space, at this conference. The travel scholarships shall help defray the expenses within Abuja and lodging costs.



Eligibility criteria for the travel scholarship
To be considered for the travel scholarship, you must:

Currently reside in Nigeria
Speak English.
Have post-secondary education (currently enrolled or completed).
Commit to being available for the full conference duration (16th - 17th of January, 2019)
Submit an abstract based on one of the conference sub-themes (click here or visit https://lic.ncdc.gov.ng/abstract).
- The scientific quality of abstracts submitted for presentation and its relevance to Lassa fever/VHFs will be the basis for awarding the scholarships. Only one application per abstract will be considered.

IT IS ESSENTIAL YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING READY BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION :

Valid ID Card (e.g. international passport, national ID card, voters card, etc)
Most recent post-secondary certificate
A written personal profile of yourself (max. 50 words)
A written personal justification for the travel scholarship (max. 50 words), stating why you should be awarded this travel scholarship.

Only documents in PDF, DOC and DOCX format can be uploaded to the online application system. Documents should not be more than 1 MB in size.

Please note that applications must be complete and submitted before the 31st October, 2018. Successful scholarship awardees shall be contacted via email. Please note that submission does not guarantee acceptance.
